Seen as how no presenters have had access to this site whilst it was being built, nobody's posted a blog yet, so I thought I'd just fill the gap with a quick message. As you can clearly see by the fact you're on it, the new site has been launched, along with a fresh design for the iPlayer (available from the goodies page).
This has been the biggest rebuild yet, having totally ripped out the guts of our databases to start again from scratch, allowing us to automate many tasks like showing when people are on air via the shows page. Of course, with all these lines of code (it would probably take hours to count), there are likely to be a few bugs here and there, so if you spot anything please do let us know via the new contact form, provided that's working!
Looking at new features for this version of the site, we've taken into account feedback from DJs and listeners about difficulties tuning in and finding the right links. As a result of this we've added a new listen menu to make the process a bit more straightforward, and if you're still not sure which player's right for you, there's now a fully interactive web player available once you've selected your connection speed.
Right, it's Monday afternoon and the site still isn't finished so I'd better stop typing here and get on with it. Before I go, if you haven't already noticed, our background changer is back (see the bottom of the page). This time it uses images, and it actually remembers your background (unlike the last one), it's a miracle!
